Product Description

Sorry Out of Stock. ETA 8/07/17

Indigo Powder for Hair is a natural plant. The powdered leaves have a natural dark blue dye. Indigo is used along with henna to dye darker hair tones.

What color tones will you get?

  • reddish brown when using proportions of 75% henna and 25% indigo. This method is called a one step process.
  • brown tones when using proportions of 50% indigo and 50% henna. This method is called a one step process.
  • dark chocolate brown tones when using proportions of 75% indigo and 25% henna. This method is called a one step process.
  • Black Tones when you use henna first at 100%, and then second step of indigo at 100%. This method is called a two step process.
  • Apply indigo with your henna application to get browner tones. This method is called a one step process.

Instructions and recipes will also come with every purchase of indigo.

Our indigo is packaged in double plastic bags inside of foil packaging. This ensures freshness.

Please note: this indigo differs from our organic indigo. They are from two different farms, and the results vary. This difference is similar to the difference in color results between henna powders. This particular indigo is best for resistant hair and grey hairs. We recommend this indigo for our clients wanting dark tones including black tones.

Using indigo for brown to black tones

Veronica's recipe: She used 60/40 ratio of henna to indigo, with the henna mixed with very strong, cool black tea. Then after that she did two very strong glosses of mostly henna with a little bit of indigo.

  2. Reliable 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Aug 2015

I have been using this product from Henna Sooq for a number of years and find that the quality is always consistent and gives me the results I am aiming for. I have always used a Henna/Indigo/Amla gloss which produces a lovely reddish brown tone over my 80% grey hair. My temples are 100% grey. The indigo tends to wash out leaving me more orange than I would like so I must repeat every 2 weeks. Delivery is always very prompt.

  3. Hair turns purple 4 Star Review

I did the 2 step process from Henna to Indigo to achieve my hair to turn black from gray, as result it resulted in a purplish tinge....I followed all instruction as it was giving to me. so I don't know how to correct this.

  4. Great rich black colour! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Jun 2015

First I did a mixture of 1/4 amla and 3/4 Rajasthani henna. Then I added the indigo right after. I mixed the indigo with lukewarm water and 2 tbs salt and let it sit for no more than 15 minutes before applying. I slept in it overnight(not that you have to.. I just had to do it overnight because I had henna in my hair all day) . I rinsed it out with cold water and I loved the colour. I was nervous it wouldn't stick so I didn't shower or wet my hair for 5 days (I do the whole no poo method so it was easy for me). I washed with baking soda and honey and rinsed with Apple cider vinegar and cold water. it really stuck to my hair and hasn't washed out at all! I was nervous about it as I have never used indigo before and I do have some grey hair. My hair looks so strong and shiney after the henna, amla and then indigo! I will never use chemical dyes on my hair again. I am a converted lifelong customer! Haha

  5. Super Safe,Super Results 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th May 2015

Long story short,I had cancer growing up and lost most of my hair.In my young adulthood I have had various hair transplants, which more or less turned out amazing.

That being said I always wanted to dye my hair but wasn't too keen on using chemical dyes. I found HennaSooq a few years back and have been using Henna/Indigo off and on for some time now.

My hair always looks and feels amazing after the process and don't have to worry about any damage!
